Otis Harbor Springs, formerly the Birchwood Inn, was acquired and renovated in 2023 with their grand opening launch in May of 2024. Otis Harbor Springs, located in Harbor Springs, Michigan, is the first boutique hotel of its kind in the area, nestled along the infamous Tunnel of Trees and only a short walk from private beaches that overlook Lake Michigan.
With the launch of their brand new hotel, Otis Harbor Springs needed to drum up demand for bookings in anticipation for their grand opening. In addition to being hired to handle the hotel's organic search campaigns, we were also tasked with building a booking acquisition campaign from scratch with the goal of producing a positive ROAS in time for peak season.
Before laying down the groundwork for the paid media campaigns, we worked side-by-side with Otis Harbor Springs' team to ensure their hospitality management system was synced and set up properly to accurately track bookings generated online.
Our search strategy involved running both Google Hotel Ads and traditional Google Search Ads to drive inbound traffic for those looking for hotels in the area. During seasons like fall and winter, our strategy shifted to destination-based campaigns to bring awareness of Otis Harbor Springs to those who were looking to plan their trips around specific activities in northern Michigan. By targeting keywords like "hotels near the tunnel of trees", Otis was able to capitalize on thousands of impressions per month for families and travelers driving the infamous M-119 route.
To augment our inbound search campaigns, we also architected in-platform ads on Expedia, and tied everything together with carefully segmented retargeting campaigns on Meta to capture abandoned bookings.
The strategy proved to be fruitful, as we drove a positive ROAS within only a few short weeks of launching the campaign.
The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.
A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!
Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
